Schulenburg Hands Leps First Loss

Shorthorns Never Trail in 54-44 Win in La Grange

Myles Thomas gets most of the attention when the Schulenburg basketball team steps on the court.

And rightly so.

The senior college prospect’s got the height of a center with the ball-handling skills and shooting touch of a guard But the Shorthorns are so much more than a one-man show.

That was on display Tuesday in La Grange as Schulenburg handed the Leps their first loss of the season in a 54-44 contest.

“Myles Thomas’ play speaks for itself. He’s really a great player,” said La Grange head coach David Cooper. “But I was really impressed with the rest of their team too. They knocked down some really big shots and are so well-coached. Thomas is in the middle of everything but when you focus on one guy it gives opportunities to other players, and they took advantage of that.”
