Don’t Wait For a Crisis

Another crisis. This time it is the shooting in Las Vegas.

There have been many lately. These crises have occurred in multiples recently. Hurricanes followed by flooding followed by the mass shooting in Las Vegas.

I am discouraged by the loss of property of my friends and neighbors. I am even more saddened by the long-term devastation of entire towns and regions of the United States and elsewhere. But the massive loss of life at the hands of one individual has me in a bit of a state of shock.

When I awoke on Monday morning to the news of the tragedy that had unfolded in Las Vegas, I hoped it was a hoax – someone’s idea of a cruel joke. As I read account after account from various news sources, I came to realize this was not a bit of fake news.
