World’s Largest Buddhist Charity Gives Out More than $90,000 In Increments of $600 gift cards to Flood-Affected Families Here

The Austin Service Center of Tzu Chi Foundation provided gift cards and blankets to La Grange families affected by last month’s flood. The Tzu Chi Foundation is the world’s largest Buddhist charity.

Their volunteers set up in the ballroom of the casino hall and served a steady line of flood affected families all morning.

The organization gave out more than 150 gifts cards of $600 each to displaced locals families, meaning the foundation gave out more than $90,000 in flood relief in a single day

Tzu Chi is an international humanitarian organization whose mission is to relieve the suffering of those in need, and create a better world for all. In Chinese, “tzu” means compassion, and “chi” relief:
