Deadline Approaching For Voter Registration

Animal Shelter Update

As of March 17, total intake for the Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter is 276: 171 dogs and 105 cats in need. As of March 17, the shelter has 50 animals in care: 33 dogs/17 cats. This number includes animals in the facility, in foster care for medical, waiting on available space, or awaiting transport to rescue partner.

Shooting Now a Homicide Case After Victim Dies

The case involving the Flatonia Postmaster who allegedly shot a man in Lavaca County on March 5 is now a homicide. The Lavaca County Sheriff’s Office told the Record this week that the victim has died from his injuries.

Governor to Speak At Giddings Event
