1973: Facelift for La Grange’s Historic Muster Oak

City council formally approved rehabilitation treatment for the historic Muster Oak in downtown La Grange. A contract awarded to Columbus Tree and Lawn Service involved cleaning the large cavity at the base of the oak, as well as several other smaller cavities, sterilization, filling in the cavities to provide bases for new growth and cutting out decayed branches.

Local Kids Transport Audiences ‘Back to the 80s’ With Radical Play

More than 60 area kids combined for a three-night run of “Back to the 80s” last week, the annual Fayette County Community Theatre’s kids summer play. The show was directed by recent LHS grad Hayden Splawn with assistance from another LHS grad, Bryssa Rios and adult supervisor Melissa Weltner.
