Cambree Denham had a big day Monday at the District 29-1A track meet in Fayetteville. She won gold in the pole vault, the high jump, the 200 meters and as part of the district champion 4x100 relay.
In a battle of two teams that made it to the state tournament last year, the Fayetteville baseball team scored an impressive win Tuesday at Flatonia, beating the Bulldogs 6-2. The victory improves the Lions to 6-2 this season.
The Schulenburg baseball team beat Weimar Tuesday 16-4 to improve to 6-9 overall and 3-3 in district. The Shorthorns cranked out 15 hits with Ian Reeves and Aaron Janecek each getting three hits.
Saturday, the Flatonia baseball team lost a tough one in extra innings 1-0 to the Shiner Comanches. Shiner scratched across the winning run in the bottom of the tenth inning to pick up the win.
Wednesday March 19 Flatonia Elementary 2nd Grade students participated in a jump-a-thon hosted by the Fayette County Helpers, Karen Forest and Jeff Kelly, Jr. The students competed to see who could jump rope the longest.
The 12-team Rusty Cauthern Relays were contested Thursday at Leopard Stadium, with the rain impacting the meet. Several late events were not contested.
Fayettville Beats Shiner The Fayetteville baseball team defeated Shiner 4-1 Tuesday as the Lions improved to 5-2 this season. Jack Schley pitched five innings of one-run ball with nine strikeouts.
