All Roads Lead to La Grange for Bikeathon This Weekend

Fayette County officials as well as those in the surrounding area are preparing for the 41st annual MS 150 bikeathon this weekend April 26-27. The ride, which has starts in both Houston and Austin, brings thousands of bike riders into La Grange for the overnight stay.

The Round Top-Carmine baseball team will begin the playoffs versus Hull-Daisetta with a best-of-three series beginning 4:30 p.m. Thursday, May 1, with a doubleheader at New Caney West Fork High School. If necessary a Game 3 would be back there on Friday at 5 p.m.

Trio of Leps Make Semifinals at District Tennis

La Grange’s district tennis tournament concluded this week in Caldwell. Junior Marissa Muras (Girls Singles) and Juniors Eleanor Carey/Ella Nygren (Girls Doubles) advanced to the semi-finals on Tuesday but both lost to finish 4th in their respective divisions.

Lep Golfers Cheered on at Regionals

The La Grange boys golf team competed at the Region III-4A tournament last week in Huntsville. The Leps were in 9th after Day One, and shot a team total of 355. Day 2 they held the 7th place spot for a while, but struggled towards the end of the round, ending Round 2 scoring 357, and placing 10th in the tournament. La Grange had a twoday 712. Bullard won with a two-day score of 652. La Grange individual golfers and their two day scores were:
