The Schulenburg City Council signed a proclamation Monday night, Aug. 4, recognizing the Schulenburg Shorthorn Baseball Team for making it to the State Semifinals. La Grange junior Colt Jobb has continued his breakout year as a high school punter. On the heels of being named the Best Punter at the Texas Tech University camp back in June, Jobb was invited to the prestigious Kohl’s Invitation Punting Camp (held in Gatlinburg, Tennessee on July 19-29).

Serbin and Weimar to Face Off for Community League Baseball Title Sunday in La Grange

The baseball championship of the Community League has been set. Serbin defeated Flatonia 10-0 Sunday in one semifinal and Weimar defeated New Ulm 9-6 in the other semifinal.

Brooke Ulrich of La Grange and Landry Mutscher of Giddings were members of the Texas Bombers Gold 14u that won the Alliance Fast Pitch Championship 14u Tier 1 in Kokomo, Indiana, on July 31. Both are sophomores at their respective high schools.
