Third-Year LHS Team Tennis Squad Caps Most Successful Season Yet

The La Grange Team Tennis team played its bi-district playoff match on Tuesday against Caldwell but was not able to advance, losing 1-10. Although it’s the second year in a row to suffer a first-round loss to Caldwell, it does mark the most successful season for LG Team Tennis in its three years of existence. The team had a program-best season record of 5-2, attained its highest seeding at #3, and hosted the first team tennis playoff round in school history. The standout players were seniors Eleanor Carey and Ella Nygren, who defeated Caldwell’s #1 girls doubles team in three sets for La Grange’s only match win.

No Winner, Pot Jumps to $200

For the first time this season we didn’t have a winner in last week’s reader football pick it contest. UT’s loss to Florida knocked out 71 of the 74 ballots we received. Freddie Ramirez gets special recognition for starting 9-0 before incorrectly picking the Jets to beat Dallas.

No winner last week means this week’s pot jumps to $200. Good luck!

After Bye Week, Leps Begin Second Half of the Regular Season Friday

Here at the halfway mark of the regular season, what do we know about the Leps and 11-4A as district play is about to start? La Grange has a 3-2 record, and they were 4-1 at this time a year ago. The only difference is that last year’s Leps beat Navasota, and this year’s Leps fell to Navasota 65-27 last time out.
