No Winner; Prize Jumps to $300

Out of the 90 entries in last week’s reader football pick it contest, nobody got all 10 games right. UT’s upset of Oklahoma and Bellville’s upset win over Sealy knocked out most of the ballots. That means the prize money rolls over and the pot for this week is $300. Remember you can enter as many ballots as you like, but no photo copies. Good luck!

Leps Suffer Costly Loss to Madisonville

La Grange forced five turnovers to keep themselves in the game, but couldn’t stop the Madisonville running attack as the Mustangs beat the Leps 52-35 in the district opener for both teams. This loss proved costly in more ways than one for La Grange as standout senior lineman and captain Oliver Gunn suffered a season-ending knee injury in the game.
