La Grange vs. Sealy When: 7:30 p.m.

The Round Top-Carmine volleyball team looked sharp in the area round of the 1A playoffs Tuesday, sweeping past Goodrich 25-7, 25-10, 25-8 in Huntsville. The victory improves the Cubettes record to 16-23-1 and vaults them into the regional quarterfinals where they will play Chester at 6 p.m.

The Fayetteville volleyball team smashed Hull-Daisetta Tuesday in Waller 2511, 25-11 25-19 in a second round 1A playoff match. The victory improves the Lady Lions overall record to 28-13 and vaults them into a third round match against Richards at 7:30 p.m.

For a team that started with so much uncertainty, the La Grange volleyball team certainly accomplished a lot this season. The Lady Leps season came to an end Monday in Thrall with a three-set 25-16, 25-13, 25-11 loss to a Salado team loaded with at least four future D-I college athletes.

Anyone who thinks band members are not athletes have obviously not seen the La Grange High School Band. From marching practice in the heat of the summer back in August to the stressful spotlight of the Alamodome this week at the state marching competition, the members of the Mighty Leopard Band are the epitome of athletic excellence.

The Flatonia volleyball team won their second round playoff match Monday in Giddings by knocking off Thorndale 25-13, 25-15, 25-19. The Lady Bulldogs (2421) now advance to the third round where they will face Refugio (20-19) Thursday at 6 p.m.

The Schulenburg volleyball team defeated Snook Monday in Fayetteville 25-12, 25-11, 25-8 in a 2A volleyball area round playoff match. The Lady Horns improved to 33-14 overall with the victory.

The Schulenburg volleybball team swept Yorktown 2522, 25-14, 25-11 in their 2A playoff opener Thursday in Seguin. The Lady Horns (32-14 overall) now advance to play Snook 7 p.m.

Lady Leps Sweep Katy Freeman in 4A Bidistrict Match The La Grange volleyball team dominated Katy Freeman in their 4A playoff opener Thursday in College Station, winning 25-23, 2515, 25-11. The Lady Leps (27-16 overall), now advance to the area round where they will play Salado (32-13) on Monday, Nov, 3 at 6:30 p.m.
