Flatonia Girls Win Home Hoops Tourney

The Flatonia girls basketball team won their home tournament last week, winning all four games they played and improving their record to 14-1 overall. Thursday the Lady Bulldogs beat Bellville 78-30 behind 42 points from Summer Sodek.

Lady Leps Improve to 13-4 Overall

The La Grange girls basketball team split four games at the Jarrell Tournament Thursday and Friday, beating Austin Royals Home School 41-32 and Thrall 53-41, but falling to Belton 50-47 and Little River Academy 53-28.

Fayetteville Boys Now 11-5 in Hoops

The Fayetteville boys basketball team split four games at Thorndale’s Tournament last week, beating Rogers 88-53 and Tenaha 81-36, but falling to Lexington 68-62 and Hearne 76-67. In that win over Rogers, Mason Fenhaus scored 42 points for Fayetteville. The Lions are now 11-5 overall and play at Hempstead Tuesday.

Kalen Scott: Heart of a Champion

Flatonia senior basketball player Kalen Scott missed all last season with a heart condition, but has come back strong this year. She scored 14 points and played strong defense in Flatonia’s 75-46 victory over Schulenburg in Tuesday’s district opener.

Flatonia Beats Schulenburg in District Opener

Last year, the Flatonia girls basketball team tied the longest playoff run in program history as they marched to the regional finals. Early indications are the Lady Bulldogs could be in for another historic season.
