SHS Competes Well at Brazos Valley Marching Festival

The Schulenburg Shorthorn Marching Band competed in the Brazos Valley Marching Festival last week in Caldwell. “Braving the heat with no clouds, the SHS students performed well and with pride. Very proud of their efforts,” said James Willbanks, director of bands at Schulenburg. “This contest is designed to give us critiques so we can really hone in our performance for UIL to give us the best chance possible at a first division. Two weeks before the real deal, our band earned a 2+, 2+, and 2 for an overall 2nd division. We received great comments to help focus our work for the next couple of weeks before our performance in Giddings on Oct. 18 at noon.”
