Shorthorns Celebrate Renovated Stadium, New Coach With a Big Win
The Schulenburg football team began their new era under head coach Clay Ferguson with a resounding 42-0 victory over Hallettsville Sacred Heart Friday.
Debuting their renovated stadium, the Shorthorns amassed 394 yards while limiting Sacred Heart to just 34 total yards.
Schulenburg quarterback Owen Brenek threw for a pair of touchdowns (to Jayse Janda and Denver Carr) and ran for a touchdown to lead the Shorthorns to a 21-0 halftime lead.
After the half Schulenburg got rushing touchdowns from Mason Kunschick, Tavondrick Ellison and Daterrion Houston.
The Shorthorns host Rogers this Friday.
