It was a wild finish to the Community League baseball regular season.
Because of a rainout that wasn’t able to be replayed, Serbin and Weimar met Monday morning, coin flip ensued. Serbin won the flip. Here are the final standings: Serbin 7-0* New Ulm 3-5 Weimar 3-4* Flatonia 3-5 Shiner 3-5 *rainout game decided by coinflip - Serbin won flip.
Tiebreaker: New Ulm had 1-1 record vs. each other team in tiebreaker, giving them the “head to head” tie breaker over the other 3 teams.
Of the remaining 3 teams, “head to head” did not yield a tiebreaker, neither did “record vs. Higher seeds”. 3rd tiebreaker implemented (avg # of runs allowed). This tiebreaker carries with it a stipulation that if a team involved in tiebreaker has a forfeit, that team is removed from the tiebreaker. Shiner forfeited to Weimar earlier in the season, so Shiner is removed from the tiebreaker.
Flatonia and Weimar tiebreaker reverts to avg. runs allowed per game. Weimar wins the tiebreaker.
