Meanwhile, Schulenburg looked very impressive in Clay Ferguson’s first game as head coach at Schulenburg as the Shorthorns spanked Hallettsville Sacred Heart 42-0. New ‘Horns starting QB Owen Brenek ran 91 yards and threw for 134 yards. The Schulenburg defense limited Sacred Heart to just 34 total yards.

Last meeting: Schulenburg lost 63-56 to Rogers last season as Rogers ran for 457 yards. Aaron Janecek threw for 394 yards and six TDs, including three to Byron Johnson, but it was not enough.
