Schulenburg Switching to Online Ticketing
Schulenburg ISD is switching to an online ticketing system for athletic events in the upcoming school year.
Shorthorn fans will no longer pay cash to get into games. The school contracted with the company Hometown Ticketing to handle admission fees for sporting events. Athletic Director Clay Ferguson said the school will post website links before each athletic event where the public can buy tickets for home games.
In addition, the school will post QR codes on signs near the entrance at home games. People who didn’t buy advance tickets can scan the code with a smartphone, and it’ll bring up the website to purchase tickets.
“We’re trying to keep up with everyone else who’s doing it,” Ferguson said. “Every playoff game we went to last year had online tickets. Nobody has to handle cash. There’s a safety and security aspect as well. You don’t have somebody carrying a box of cash at night after the game.”
Ferguson said SISD will continue to offer senior citizen passes to sporting events.
