Schulenburg Puts a Scare Into Defending State Champs
The Schulenburg football team put a scare into a Ganado team that is the defending state champs before the Indians eventually prevailed 42-20 Friday.
The Shorthorns led 14-0 in this one and 20-7 before Ganado scored the final 35 points of the game.
Schulenburg quarterback Owen Brenek ran for two touchdowns and Mason Kunschick also rushed for a touchdown, and the Shorthorn defense limited Ganado to just 309 total yards.
The loss drops Schulenburg to 2-5 overall and 1-2 in district, while Ganado improved to 7-1 and 4-0.
