Mascheck Retiring In Flatonia
Flatonia head football coach and athletic director Brent Mascheck has announced he will be retiring June 30.
Mascheck has been the head football coach at Flatonia the past two seasons, going 5-5 in 2023 and 1-9 in 2024.
In 20 years as a head coach he has a 99-110 overall record, including stops at Columbus, Tidehaven and West Columbia. He was the high school coach of this year’s No. 1 NFL draft pick Cam Ward while he was at West Columbia.
“I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude for the incredible support you’ve shown me and my family over the years. It’s been a privilege to coach the Flatonia Bulldogs,” Mascheck said in a statement. “This decision hasn’t been an easy one, but I’ve realized it’s time for me to pursue other opportunities and focus on my family. I will always cherish the memories and the relationships that have been forged at my time here in Flatonia. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your unwavering support, your passion for our teams, and for making Flatonia High School such a special place.”
