LG Takes Over Sole Possession Of Second Place – With Authority
The Caldwell volleyball team came to La Grange Tuesday tied with the Lady Leps for second place in District 22-4A.
But they didn’t leave that way.
La Grange overpowered Caldwell early and then held on for a 25-18, 25-16, 22-25, 25-20 victory.
That win vaults the Lady Leps into sole possession of second place with a 4-1 district mark. Caldwell falls into third with a 3-2 record.
The Lady Leps are now 23-14 overall and play at Navasota Friday at 6 p.m.
Tuesday’s victory comes on the heels of last Friday’s four-set victory over Smithville. In that match Carley Ultich led the way for La Grange with 18 kills, Brion Williams had 12 and Kylie Trlicek had 10.
Trlicek had 25 assists and Gabby Hollek had 12.
Trlicek also led in digs with 14. Haedyn Cooper had 12 and Ulrich had 12. Williams had two aces.
