Leps Host El Campo Friday in Football Scrimmage; 104 High Schoolers Playing This Year
After hitting one another the last two weeks, the La Grange football team will finally get a chance to hit somebody else as the Leps host El Campo Friday in the first preseason scrimmage. Subvarsities will scrimmage at 5:30 p.m. with the varsities beginning about 7 p.m.
The Ricebirds and the Leps both went 6-5 last season.
La Grange head coach Kyle Cooper said he’s had 104 high school players going through football workouts, which is about the same as the last couple of years.
Next week the Leps will go to Franklin for their final preseason scrimmage before the regular season opens up Friday Aug. 29 at Cameron.
