Leps Compete at State Linemen Challenge

Members of the La Grange football team finished 7th in the state out of 15 teams in Class 4A at the state Lineman Challenge at Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene last week. The Leps were first overall in an event called the “Worm Carry” and also beat Stephenville for third place in the tug-of-war. In the picture listed from left to right is Erick Guevara, Cash Schoetlin, Edric Gants, Oliver Gunn, Gavin Pietsch, Carter Finch, Trey Brumley, Jahir Lopez-Ocon, Christian Biles, Luke Anderson, and Jose Portillo. These students participated in a total of 11 events including farmers walk, tire flip relay, a power drive, an obstacle course, bench press, a sled push, a sand bag stack relay, monster sled push, worm carry, a truck push and finished with tug of war.
