Leps Baseball Season Ends in the 3rd Round
The La Grange baseball team saw its season come to an end as the Leps lost both games of their regional semifinal series to Bridge City 4-2 Thursday and 6-2 Friday in Houston.
The Leps end their season with a 16-15 record.
Thursday La Grange fell behind 4-0 before scoring a pair of runs in the bottom of the seventh inning when Dalton Janacek and Ty Stark both hit one-out singles. Janacek scored on a Bridge City error on a grounder by Max Dixon and then Kyler Lamza singled to drive in Stark, but the Leps couldn’t complete the rally.
In Game 2 Saturday, the Leps were down 1-0 before taking a 2-1 lead in the fifth inning when a single by Ty Stark plated Holdyn Cooper and Oliver Gunn. But that was the only inning the Leps could get any offense going. La Grange senior pitcher Braxton Dahse pitched into the sixth before Bridge City scored five runs in that frame and eventually held on to clinch the series.
The Leps had seven seniors who played their final high school game Friday – Ty Stark, Braxton Dahse, Holdyn Cooper, Hunter Sabo, Kyler Lamza, Bradyn Prasek and Max Dixon.
