Lady Leps Lose to Gatesville in Area

The La Grange softball team saw its season come to an end in the second round of the playoffs Saturday after getting swept by Gatesville 2-1 and 7-2.

The Lady Leps end their season with an 18-10 record.

This series was pushed back two days by bad weather.

In the series opener Gatesville broke a scoreless tie with two runs in the sixth inning.

La Grange cut that lead in half when Brion Williams drove in Madi Adams in the bottom of the seventh, but the Lady Leps couldn’t push across any more runs.

La Grange freshman Brooke Ulrich pitched a complete game seven hitter in that opener.

In Game 2, La Grange fell behind 7-0 and couldn’t recover.

Melissa Gonzales had three hits and Madi Adams had two for the Leps.

The Lady Leps had three seniors playing in their final game Saturday, Gonzales, Landri Hernandez and Kaylee Holmes.
