La Grange, RTC and Flatonia Fall in Boys Playoff Openers
Leps The La Grange boys basketball team lost its playoff opener 64-50 Monday in Brenham to Katy Freeman.
The Leps led by five at halftime but really struggled to score in the second half.
It was an uphill battle going into this one for the Leps. Freeman will be a 5A school next year and has over 2,000 students in the high school. La Grange has about 600 students in the high school.
La Grange ends its season with a 23-11 overall record.
The Leps had five seniors including starters Cole Collier and Mason Kleiber, reserves Scott Davis and Caleb Stokes and Oliver Gunn, who was injured most of the season.
Flatonia The Flatonia boys lost their playoff opener to Granger 37-25 Tuesday in Caldwell. Jaylon Anderson scored 10 and Zayden Perez scored nine. The Flatonia boys end their season with a 10-18 record.
RTC The Round Top-Carmine boys basketball team made its first playoff appearance in 12 years Monday, but the postseason trip was a short one for the Cubs as they lost to Moulton 49-31.
The Cubs end their season with a 14-17 record.
