King Throws No-Hitter at Huntsville Tournament

The La Grange softball team won two, lost two and tied one at the Huntsville Tournament last week.

The tourney started Thursday with a bang as La Grange’s Iylah King no-hit Huntsville in a 2-0 win.

Madi Adams drove in Abby Cernosek and Hannah Mitchell drove in Adams for La Grange’s two runs.

Later Thursday La Grange beat Cameron 4-1 as Brooke Ulrich pitched a complete game three-hitter, striking out eight. King had three hits, including a double and drove in two and scored two in that game. Anabella DelaRosa hit a triple in that game.

Friday the Lady Leps lost to Grand Oaks JV 2-1 as Ulrich drove in Cernosek with La Grange’s only run.

In Saturday’s first game La Grange tied Hudson 4-4. Ulrich pitched the complete game and DelaRosa hit a triple and drove in two.

In Saturday’s tourney finale, La Grange lost to Livingston 6-1.

The Lady Leps are now 10-6-1 overall and host St. Paul Tuesday at 7 p.m.
