Impressive Opening Night for County Volleyball Teams

TGCA Preseason

It was an impressive opening night for Fayette County volleyball teams as all five county squads grabbed victories.

• La Grange, led by new coach Ryan O’Neal, went to Weimar and beat the Wildcats in five sets 23-25, 25-12, 23--

25, 25-23, 15-10.

• Fayetteville swept Hempstead 25-16, 25-19, 25-18.

Cambree Denham led the team in kills with 10. Scotti Beseda and Lainey Gromaski had five each. Aubree Graeter had four kills and Devynn Moeckel had three.

Emily Keilers led the team in aces with three. Keilers and Gromaski led in digs with 12 each. Moeckel had 11 digs and Beseda had seven. Beseda led in assists with 11.

• Round Top-Carmine swept Anderson-Shiro in three sets.

• Flatonia swept Rice and Sacred Heart

• Schulenburg beat East Bernard 25-12, 25-21, 25-20.

The Flatonia Lady Dog JV Squad competed in the Schulenburg JV tournament on Monday. Here are their results: Game 1 versus Schulenburg, lost in 2 sets: 24-26 and

14-25 Game 2 versus La Grange, lost in 2 sets: 10-25 and 21-25 Game 3 versus Edna, lost in 2 sets: 22-25 and 27-29 Game 4 versus Weimar, lost in 2 sets: 17-25 and 8-25.
