Hoops Roundup: LG, Fayetteville Keep Rolling

• The La Grange boys basketball team went to Caldwell and won Friday 55-25 to improve to 21-9 overall and 6-1 in district. Brandon Mathis scored 15 points and had 20 rebounds to lead the Leps. Cole Collier also scored 15 points. Hunter Gross scored six, Conner Brooks and Caleb Norwood scored four, Mason Kleiber and Wyatt Bretz scored three, Dillan Johnson and Tristan Ulrich scored two and Koen Zbranek scored one. The Leps host Navasota at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday

• The La Grange girls basketball team beat Caldwell 59-27 to improve to 27-8 overall and 9-0 in district. The Lady Leps will host Navosta in the regular season finale Tuesday at 6 p.m.

• The Flatonia girls basketball team defeated Weimar Friday 76-46 to improve to 30-3 overall and 11-0 in district. Summer Sodek scored 32 points and had 11 rebounds for Flatonia. Kalen Scott scored 21 and Abbie Uzzell scored eight.

• The Fayetteville boys basketball team defeated Richards Friday 67-65 to avenge an earlier loss this season to the Panthers. The win moves the Lions into a first place tie with Richards in the district standings. Both teams are 9-1 in district. Fayetteville is 24-6 overall. Fayetteville’s Jack Schley recorded his 1,000 career point in the victory.

basketball team bashed Richards Friday 50-8 as the Lady Lions improved to 18-13 overall and 12-0 in district.

• The Schulenburg girls basketball team beat Bloomington 95-9 Friday to improve to 23-8 overall and 8-3 in district.
