Hoops Round-Up
The Fayetteville girls basketball team polished off a perfect 12-0 run through District 29-1A play with a 50-8 win over Richards Friday.
The Lady Lions are 18-13 overall. Cambree Denham led the way for Fayetteville with 15 points. Shea Sladek scored 13. Devynn Moeckel scored eight, Scotti Beseda five, Paige Jurecka three, and Saige Gasaway, Mackayla Griffin and Aubree Graeter all scored two.
Fayetteville will begin the playoffs next week.
The Round Top-Carmine boys basketball team beat Buckholts Tuesday 92-35 as the Cubs improved to 6-4 in district and 12-14 overall. Facundo Cerda led the way for RTC with 19 points. Kash Wessels scored 12, Caden Tovey 11, Tre’Veon Fisher 10, Cash Robertson nine, Nicholas McKenzie eight, Miles Neese seven, Cody Wunderlich seven, Crew Bernshausen four, Connor Fricke three and Willian Neese two.
RTC Girls Improve to 8-3 in District
The Round Top-Carmine girls basketball team improved to 8-3 in district and 10-11 overall with a 33-25 victory over North Zulch Friday. Halle Phoenix led the way for RTC with seven points. Jaylen Bage scored six, Hayden Kasmiersky five, Madison Markwardt four, Bree Dooley four, Avery Lamson three, Morgan Nelius two, and Jaelynn Ahrens two.
Schulenburg Sweeps Shiner
The Schulenburg boys basketball team beat Shiner 58-49 Tuesday to improve to 21-9 overall and 9-1 in district. The Lady Horns beat Shiner 51-43 to finish their regular season 24-8 overall and 9-3 in district. The Lady Horns begin the playoffs next week.
