LG Boys Win at Bellville

The La Grange girls basketball team improved to 25-8 overall and 7-0 in district with a 63-28 victory at Bellville Friday.

The first place Lady Leps host Giddings Tuesday at 6 p.m.

The La Grange boys basketball team went to Bellville and defeated the Brahmas 6351 Friday.

Brandon Mathis scored a team-high 21 points for the Leps and grabbed 15 rebounds. Conner Brooks scored 17, Caleb Norwood and Cole Collier each scored eight, Mason Kleiber scored seven and Dillan Johnson scored two.

The Leps are now 19-9 overall and 4-1 in district. They host Giddings at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Lady Lions Clinch

District Title

The Fayetteville girls basketball team defeated North Zulch 59-16 to clinch the Lady Lions’ girls first outright district title in basketball since 2018.

Scotti Beseda led the way for the Lady Lions with 18 points. Cambree Denham and Devynn Moeckel scored 12 each. Lainey Gromanski scored six, Paige Jurecka five, Shea Sladek and Tatum Fritsch two, and Aubree Graeter one. The Lady Lions are now 16-13 overall and 10-0 in district.

Lady Dogs fall

Despite a 35 point, 19-rebound performance from Summer Sodek, the Flatonia girls basketball team dropped a non-district game Friday to San Antonio’s Cornerstone Christian 67-62.

Kalen Scott scored 11. Dani Vinklarek scored 10, Jalee Trussell three, Abbie Uzzell two, and Eliana Herrera one.

The Lady Bulldogs are now 28-3 overall and 9-0 in district and return to district play Tuesday versus Louise.

Schulenburg

Sweeps

The Schulenburg boys and girls basketball teams both swept Ganado Friday in district action night.

The Shorthorns won 5343 to improve to 18-9 overall and 6-1 in district.

The Lady Horns won 4542 to improve to 22-8 overall and 7-3 in district.

Lions Roll

The Fayetteville boys basketball team smashed North Zulch 84-19 Friday as the Lions improved to 22-6 overall and 7-1 in district.
