La Grange vs. Sealy
When: 7:30 p.m. Friday Where: Sealy Records: La Grange is 5-4 overall and 2-2 in district. Sealy is 8-1 overall and 3-1 in district.
Of Note: After last week’s big win over Giddings, this week’s regular season finale gives the Leps a taste of what the playoffs will be like. Sealy was state-ranked for much of the season, but a 35-20 loss to Bellville cost the Tigers a shot at the district title. That’s been their only loss this season. Since then, they’ve outscored the other three district opponents 170-29. Senior QB Kane Killough is throwing for 148 yards per game and a big stable of running backs is averaging 265 yards per game, led by Killough himself, who has run for 17 touchdowns ... La Grange’s Dillan Johnson ran for five touchdowns in last week’s 66-42 win over Giddings ... Unless the Leps can pull off a big upset of the Tigers, La Grange will likely be the fourth place finisher in the district, setting them up for a opening round playoff rematch against District 12 champ Waco La Vega, which knocked the Leps out of the postseason a year ago.
Last meeting: Sealy beat La Grange 48-38 last season as the Leps were doomed by three interceptions.
