La Grange vs. Giddings

When: 7:30 p.m. Friday Where: La Grange Records: La Grange is 4-4 overall and 1-2 in district. Giddings is 2-6 overall and 0-3.

Of Note: These historic rivals face off for what is believed to be the 101st time (one of the oldest rivalries in the state) this Friday with La Grange leading the all time series 51-49 ... Giddings has had a rough go of things under new head coach Luke Hobbs, who came to the Buffaloes after two successful years at Schulenburg. The Buffaloes only victories this season have come against Smithville and Rockdale. Giddings has been outscored 149 to 35 in their three district losses so far. Junior QB Corbin Medack is averaging 55 yards a game rushing and 120 yards a page passing ... La Grange meanwhile jumped back into playoff contention with last week’s 48-27 victory of Caldwell as QB Eli Gillum ran for 268 yards and 3 TDs, which put him over the 1,000-yard mark for the season.

Last meeting: La Grange blasted Giddings 63-7 last year in the most lopsided outcome in this rivalry since 1974.
