Four Fayette County volleyball teams kept their amazing playoff runs going Thursday as they all won third round playoff matches in commanding fashion. The victories vault Fayetteville and Round Top-Carmine into the 1A regional semifinals, while the victories by Schulenburg and Flatonia in their 2A regional semifinals sets up a battle between those two neighbors for the Region IV-2A title. That match will be Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. in Columbus.
Here’s a look back at all of Thursday’s highlights:
Fayetteville
The Fayetteville volleyball team won their third round playoff match Thursday over Richards 25-13, 23-25, 25-15, 25-15.
The Lady Lions improved to 29-13 with the victory and now advance to face McMullen County Tuesday at 6 p.m. at the Seguin Student Activity Center gym.
In Thursday’s victory Lainey Gromaski had 16 kills and Cambree Denham had 13. Devynn Moeckel had six kills and Scotti Beseda added four.
Emily Keilers served seven aces and led the team in digs with 28.
Gromaski had 16 digs, Beseda had 14 and Cambree Denham had 10.
Beseda had 37 assists.
RTC
The Round Top-Carmine volleyball team won their third round playoff match Thursday over Chester 26-24, 25-16, 25-23.
The Cubettes improved to 17-23-1 overall with the victory and now advance to face Utopia Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at Seguin High School’s Goldie Gym.

The Flatonia volleyball team defeated Refugio Thursday in the regional semifinals 25-14, 25-17, 25-12.
The Lady Bulldogs (2521) now advance to face Schulenburg in that aforementioned regional final Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. in Columbus.

Schulenburg
The Schulenburg volleyball team defeated Johnson City in the regional finals Thursday in Seguin 25-16, 2517, 25-19 as the Lady Horns improved to 34-14 this season.
The Lady Horns now advance to face Flatonia in that aforementioned regional final Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. in Columbus.
In Thursday’s match Haylee Vacek had 24 kills and 13 digs. Landry Zapalac had 40 assists and seven digs.
Greenli Van Zandt had 14 kills, Reagan Dusek had eight kills and Clara Magliolo had four.
Jenna Guentert led in digs with 16. Miranda Bonner had nine digs and Michaela Kollmann had seven.
Grace Schramek had two kills and two digs.
