Flatonia Wins Defensive Battle Over Bloomington

Freddy Manzano returned an interception 46 yards for a touchdown and Josemaria Garcia booted a field goal and an extra point Friday.

The Flatonia defense made sure that’s all the scoring they would need as the Bulldogs beat Bloomington 10-6 Friday in 15-2A district football action.

The Bulldogs limited Bloomington to just 147 total yards Friday. Flatonia managed just 162 total yards themselves but did just enough to improve to 4-2 overall and 1-1 in district.

Zayden Perez rushed for 106 yards for Flatonia. Carmine Valdez had 15 tackles. Lukas Gutierrez had 13 tackles and Alex Castro had 12.

Flatonia hosts Danbury this Friday for homecoming. Danbury was off last week but is 3-2 overall and 0-1 in district.
