Sculenburg and Flatonia played a district basketball doubleheader Tuesday with each team winning one battle.
The Schulenburg boys beat Flatonia 66-38. The Shorthorns had four players in double figures, led by Caden Herzik’s 18 points. Tavondrick Ellison, Van Prihoda and William Eudy all scored 10 points. Jaylon Anderson led Flatonia with 14 points. The Schulenburg boys improved to 4-1 in district while Flatonia fell to 3-2.
The Flatonia girls beat Schulenburg 80-47 as Summer Sodek scored 39 for the Lady Bulldogs, who improved to 26-2 and 7-0 in district. Dani Vinklarek scored 16 (as she passed the 1,000 point career scoring mark). Kennedy Dornak scored 11 and Abbie Uzzell and Jalee Trussell scored 10 each.
