Flatonia Girls Basketball Team Improves Record to 21-2

The Flatonia girls basketball team improved its record to a remarkable 21-2 overall and 3-0 in district with a 6735 victory over Shiner Friday.

Summer Sodek had 41 points, 16 rebounds, six steals and five assists – leading the team in each of those categories.

Dani Vinklarek scored 10 for Flatonia, Kennedy Dornak scored seven, Kalen Scott five, and Abbie Uzzell and Jalee Trussell two each.

Also last week the Flatonia girls played at the Aggieland Invitational Tournament, going 4-1 to win the Gold Consolation Bracket.

They beat Edgewood, Tatum, Pollock Central and Palmer, but lost to Houston’s St. Agnes Academy.

The Lady Dogs are back in action Tuesday vs. Cuero at home. JV begins at 5:15 p.m. and varsity to follow.
