Flatonia Gears Up for the Playoffs
The Flatonia Bulldog baseball team split their two District 29-2A games last week.
Last Tuesday, vs. Weimar the Bulldogs clinched a playoff spot with an 8-0 victory.
Titan Targac pitched a gem of a game by only allowing three hits while striking out fourteen Wildcats.
Four hits off the bat of Targac led Flatonia vs Weimar. He also had three RBI’s & a double. Caysen Perez scored three runs and tallied two hits. Udi Manzano also ripped two hits, one of which was a double.
Tripp Bowling hit a two RBI single. Singles were hit by Henri Vincik & Kullen Kutac.
Flatonia dropped one down at Ganado by a 0-15 score.
The Bulldogs were limited to just three hits by the Indian pitcher. Targac had two hits & Diego Ramirez had one.
Pitching for Flatonia vs Ganado included: Blake Kessler, Kutac, Yandel Manzano, & Ramirez.
Two warm-up playoff games are scheduled at the end of this week. On Friday, April 25 the Dogs will play at Anderson-Shiro at 6 p.m. Then on Saturday, April 26 Flatonia will host Brazos at noon.
The Bulldogs will be matched up vs. the Port Aransas Marlins in the first round of the playoffs later next week May 1-3.
All the other details of the series will be worked out this coming week.
