The Flatonia football team improved to 5-2 overall and 2-1 in district with a 32-12 victory over Danbury on homecoming night for the Bulldogs. One year after going 1-9, Flatonia has had a resurgent season. Though they finish with a tough stretch of games, for the time being the Bulldogs sit all alone in second place in the District 15-2A standings.

Flatonia’s Caysen Perez ran for 232 yards and three touchdowns Friday. Bulldog quarterback Jaylon Anderson ran for 40 yards and a touchdown and also threw for 47 yards.

Zayden Perez had two catches for 47 yards for Flatonia. Josemaria Garcia snagged an interception for the Bulldogs, had 14 tackles and also kicked a field goal and three extra points.

Lukas Gutierrez had 21 tackles for Flatonia, Alex Castro had 14 tackles and Gabriel Aguillon had 12.

The Bulldogs are off this week and next play Oct. 24 at Kenedy which is 5-2 overall and 1-2 in district and coming off their first district victory, a 60-7 win over Bloomington.
