Fayetteville Boys Advance, Girls Fall in Regional Semis
It was a bittersweet Tuesday night for Fayetteville High School.
In Giddings, the Fayetteville boys beat Waelder 96-50 in their playoff opener. Kole Schmitt hit the 1,000-point mark for his career in that game. The Lions (27-6) now advance to face D’Hanis in the second round. They will play Friday at 6 p.m. at the Goldie Harris Gym in Seguin.
But over in Centerville, the Fayetteville girls lost in their third round playoff game to Broadus 83-35. The Lady Lions (20-15) were led by Scotti Beseda’s 13 points. Devynn Moeckel added nine.
