Facing Elimination, Flatonia Girls Win Two Saturday to Advance to the Third Round

After losing Game 1 of their area round series to Charlotte 14-3 Thursday, the Flatonia softball team bounced back to win the final two games Saturday 11-7 and 11-8 to claim the series.
The Lady Bulldogs (1510) will take on Holland in the next round. Details were not finalized at press time.
In Saturday’s 11-7 win, Flatonia’s Kara Croyle had three hits, including two doubles and drove in four runs. Emma Kosler had three doubles and drove in two runs. Emma Klozik had three hits, including a double and drove in two, and Katie Templeton hit a homer and drove in two.
Jalee Trussell pitched a complete game in both contests Saturday.
In the 11-8 win, Flatonia cranked out 15 hits, including three each by Brynlee Zimmerman, Trussell and Croyle.
