The Flatonia softball team staged a stunning comeback in the final inning to shock Holland and win their one-game regional semifinal playoff game Friday 12-10.

Holland led Friday’s game 8-4 and 10-6 before Flatonia scored six runs in the top of the seventh inning (all with two outs) to win the third round playoff game.

The victory vaults the Lady Bulldogs (16-10-1) into the 2A regional finals where they will face Ganado (28-51) a team that swept Flatonia in district.

Jalee Trussell pitched a complete game for the Lady Bulldogs. Brynlee Zimmerman and Emma Kosler each had three hits and Sadie Noska had two. Kara Croyle, Brealey Nieto and Katie Templeton each drove in two runs.

It was Nieto’s double that drove in Croyle and Kosler with the go-ahead runs.
