Austen Diggs continues to represent his hometown of La Grange with excellence on the collegiate stage.

Competing at the 2026 Big 12 Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships held February 27-28 at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, the Baylor University sophomore sprinter delivered a standout performance against some of the nation’s top competition.

Diggs placed fifth overall in the 200 meters, reaching the podium for the second straight year at the conference meet. He set a personal-best time of 20.72 seconds in the preliminaries, a mark that secured his place in the finals and highlighted his continued progression. In the 60-meter dash prelims, Diggs also ran a personal best of 6.73, narrowly missing the finals by less than onehundredth of a second in one of the closest finishes of the meet.

With his performances, Diggs earned All-Big 12 honors for the second consecutive year, solidifying his place among the conference’s elite sprinters.

With the indoor season now complete, Diggs shifts his focus to the outdoor campaign, which begins at the end of March. If his indoor performances are any indication, the best may still be ahead for the Baylor standout.
