Cubs Roar into Second Round

The Round-Top-Carmine baseball team swept Hull-Daisetta 25-0 and 16-1 Thursday as the Cubs won their 1A bi-district series. RTC (9-11) now advances to face Medina in a best-of-three series at Kyle Lehmann High School.

Game 1 is Friday at 4:30 p.m. with Game 2 to follow thirty minutes after Game 1.

If necessary, Game 3 would be back in Kyle Saturday at 11 a.m.

In that 25-0 victory, William Neese and Carter Marburger combined to one-hit Hull-Daisetta. Neese pitched three hitless innings and struck out seven. Carter pitched two innings of one-hit ball, striking out four.

RTC cranked out ten hits in that game. Miles Neese, Caden Tovey and Cash Roberston all had two hits for the Cubs, and Facundo Cerda, Marburger and Miles Neese all drove in three runs.

In the 16-1 victory, Miles Neese pitched a three-inning no-hitter, striking out eight. He also had three hits, including two homers and a triple and drove in three runs. Kash Wessels hit a double.

The Cubs took advantage of seven Hull-Daisetta errors in each game.
