Cubettes Win District Title

The Round Top-Carmine volleyball team clinched their district title with a five set victory at Fayetteville Monday.

The Cubettes dropped the first two sets 17-25, and 2225 before roaring back to win the final three sets 25-21, 2516 and 15-10.

Stats for RTC included: Madison Markwardt 8 kills, 1 solo block, 1 assist block, 18 digs, 35 assists, 6 aces; Bree Dooley 19 kills, 17 digs, 3 assists, 3 aces, Makayla Smith 11 kills, 12 digs, 2 assists, 1 ace; Jessica Rohde 5 kills, 2 solo blocks, 2 assist blocks, 5 digs, 2 assists; Rebekah Sacks 3 kills, 2 assist blocks, 3 digs; Hayden Kasmiersky 3 kills; Liliana Salinas 15 digs; Avery Nelius 8 digs; Reagan Williams 14 digs; Morgan Nelius 1 kill, 4 digs, 9 assists; Caydan Nelius 2 kills, 1 assist block, 1 dig; Avery Lamson 1 dig, 1 ace.

Fayetteville was led offensively by Cambree Denham and Lainey Gromaski, who each had 10 kills. Devynn Moeckel and Scotti Beseda each had seven kills. Beseda had four aces and 26 assists. Moeckel had 31 digs. Emily Keilers had 30 digs, Beseda had 15, Gromaski and Raelee Denham had 13 digs each.
