Basketball Round-Up
The La Grange boys basketball team went to Smithville Friday and smashed the Tigers 69-23.
The playoff bound La Grange boys are now 22-10 overall and 7-2 in district and will host Bellville at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the regular season finale for both teams.
Ten Leps got on the scoreboard Friday, including several JV call-ups.
Conner Brooks led the Leps with 20 points. Mason Kleiber scored 12, Caleb Norwood and Cole Collier eight, Brandon Mathis six, Hunter Gross five, Tristan Ulrich four, Roan Willrich three, Ryder Klesel two and Caleb Stokes one.

LG Playoff Set
The La Grange girls basketball team will open the playoffs against Sealy at 5:30 p.m. Monday Feb. 16 in Schulenburg.
The Lady Leps have a 28-8 record and Sealy is 1712. The winner of this game plays the Salado/Robinson winner in the second round.
Family Matchup
In a playoff warm-up game last week the Flatonia girls beat Fayetteville 78-18.
Flatonia’s Summer Sodek had a triple-double with 36 points, 10 rebounds and 12 steals. Kalen Scott scored 19.
Paige Jurecka and Scotti Beseda each scored six for Fayetteville.
Summer Sodek was playing against her uncle, Marcus Sodek, the head coach at Fayetteville.
Both teams are district champs and begin the playoffs this week.
Flatonia (32-3) begins the playoffs Monday, Feb. 16 at 6 p.m. in Caldwell against Rosebud-Lott.
Fayetteville (18-14) will play Runge in the first round of the 1A playoffs Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. in Flatonia.
Cubettes Roll
The Round Top-Carmine girls basketball team beat Buckholts 52-2 in their season finale last Tuesday led by a nine-point night from Hayden Kasmiersky.
The Cubettes begin the playoffs Tuesday, February 17, against Norheim at the Yoakum High School gym at 6 p,m.
Ladyhorns Playoff
After a strong regular season, the Schulenburg girls basketball team (24-8) begins the playoffs Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at Manor High School against Thorndale (21-14).
Lions Dominate
The Fayetteville boys basketball team defeated Calvert 68-44 Friday to improve to 25-6 overall and 10-1 in district. The Lions host Round Top-Carmine Tuesday at 5 p.m. in the regular season finale. A win in that game would clinch a tie for the district title for the Lions with Richards.
Cubs Split a Pair
The Round Top-Carmine boys basketball team split their two games last week, beating Buckholts 92-35 with Facundo Cerda scoring 19 points for the Cubs. But the RTC boys lost Friday to Richards 89-44.
The Cubs are 6-5 in district and play Tuesday at Fayetteville in the regular season finale.
