In District 28-2A boys basketball action Friday the Schulenburg boys lost to first place Shiner 51-49. The Shorthorns fell to 3-1 in district. The Flatonia boys improved to 3-1 in district with a 54-48 victory over Ganado.
Flatonia Girls Now 25-2
Friday the Flatonia girls basketball team beat Ganado 64-13 to improve to 25-2 and 6-0 in district. Summer Sodek led the team in scoring with 29 points. Kalen Scott scored 20, Dani Vinklarek ten, Abbie Uzzell four and Jalee Trussell one.
RTC Cubs Improve to 3-1 in district
The Round Top-Carmine boys basketball team defeated Buckholts 80-32 Friday as the Cubs improved to 9-11 overall and 3-1 in district.
Facundo Cerda led the Cubs in scoring with 19. William Neese scored 15, Miles Neese 12, Kash Wessels nine, Cash Robertson seven, Juan Rodriguez six, Nicholas McKenzie five, Caden Tovey four, and Connor Fricke three.
Iola Sweeps Fayetteville
The Fayetteville boys basketball team improved to 18-6 overall with a 76-50 victory over Iola Friday. The Lions host Calvert Tuesday. The Fayetteville girls lost to Iola 57-31 Friday to fall to 12-13 overall, but the Lady Lions are still 6-0 in district play.
Lady Horns beat Shiner
The Schulenburg girls basketball team beat Shiner 48-44 Friday to improve to 19-7 overall and 4-2 in district.
