Lady Leps Dominate in District Opener

The La Grange girls basketball team opened district play in dominating fashion, beating Smithville on the road Friday 70-33.

The Lady Leps are now 19-8 overall and 1-0 in district. The La Grange girls continue district play Tuesday at home at 5:45 p.m against Bellville.

LG Boys Beat Van Vleck by 16

The La Grange boys basketball team went on the road and beat Van Vleck Friday 54-38 as the Leps improved to 14-8.

Conner Brooks scored 17 to lead the Leps and Cole Collier scored 11. Brandon Mathis scored 10 points, grabbed 12 rebounds and had seven blocks.

Caleb Norwood scored seven, Mason Kleiber four, Hunter Gross three and Koen Zbranek two.

The Leps play against Bandera Monday at 6:30 p.m. in San Marcos before opening district play Friday at Giddings.

Flatonia Girls Win 79-6

The Flatonia girls basketball team improved to 23-2 overall and 4-0 in district with a 79-6 victory over Louise Friday.

Summer Sodek had 32 points and 15 rebounds for Flatonia.

Jalee Trussell scored 18. Dani Vinklarek scored 12 points and grabbed 10 rebounds.

Abbie Uzzell scored 10, Kennedy Dornak three, Kalen Scott two and Paige Carruthers two.

Flatonia hosts Weimar this Tuesday.

Bulldogs Win

The Flatonia boys basketball team improved to 1-1 in district with a 71-28 win over Louise Friday.

Fayetteville Girls Now 5-0 in district

The Fayetteville girls basketball team defeated Buckholts 65-10 Friday to improve to 11-12 overall and 5-0 in district. Scotti Beseda scored 19 to lead the Lady Lions. Cambree Denham scored 11, Devynn Moeckel nine, Shea Sladek seven, Lainey Gromaski six, Tatum Fritsch six, Paige Jurecka five, and Saige Gasaway two.

Fayetteville Boys Bash Buckholts

The Fayetteville boys basketball team defeated Buckholts 93-34 last week to improve to 17-5 overall and 3-0 in district.
