After Perfect Opening Week Fayetteville Volleyball Vaults to No. 1 in State Rankings

The Fayetteville volleyball team started its season with a perfect 6-0 record, including a championship at the Bellville Faith West Tournament last week. That really got the attention of the Texas Girls Coaches Association, which ranked the Lady Lions as the New No. 1 team in the state in Class 1A this week. Tuesday, however, the Lady Lions lost to Burton, the No. 6-ranked team in Class 2A.

The La Grange volleyball team continues to play very well, beating Lockhart on the road Tuesday 25-19, 20-25, 25-21, 2521. That win improved the teams record. 8-3 overall.
Interestingly, the match pitted the Lady Leps against new Lockhart head coach Brittany Oruonyehu, who had briefly accepted the La Grange head coaching job earlier this spring before resigning and taking the Lockhart job.
