2025-26 Lady Leps: Making Hoop History
The La Grange girls basketball team’s wildy successful season came to an end Tuesday with a 46-43 loss to Bridge City in the regional semifinals.
Campbell Cooper scored 19, Kylie Trlicek 10, Avery Griffin seven and Macie Collier five but it was not quite enough to beat a loaded Bridge City team (32-2) that went five rounds deep last year.
But the legacy of this Lady Leps team will live on.
Led by first-year LHS coach Ryan O’Neal, this year’s Lady Leps team tied two different all-time program records (their 30 wins ties the 2020 team for the most ever) and their march to this third round ties the 2010 and 2021 teams for longest playoff runs by Lady Leps basketball.
That’s why they are an easy choice as this week’s Fayette County Athletes of the Week.
The scary news for area basketball team is that the Lady Leps are only graduating two senior players (starters Kylie Trlicek and Ella Nygren) so there’s a lot of talent returning for next year.
