Martin Luther Lutheran Church Women of the ELCA of Carmine, hosted the Western Cluster Fall Gathering on Saturday, Sept. 27, at MLLC Fellowship Hall. A delicious brunch was provided by the women and was enjoyed by almost forty people attending. The theme was “Feed the Need” and the theme verse was John 13: 34-35.

Kreische Brewery and Monument Hill State Historic Sites will host its annual Archeology Day on Saturday, Oct. 11 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. All are encouraged to join in celebrating Texas archeology and the history of Kreische Brewery--a site excavated by Texas Parks and Wildlife in the late 1970s – through hands-on activities, guided tours, and themed giveaways.

“Painting the West” opens this Saturday from 3-6 p.m. at the Red & White Gallery on Fayetteville’s Square. The exhibit features three great artists who create Western images in their own unique styles. Mark Kohler and Stephen Henry, who have had very successful shows at the Red & White before, are showing new work. And Don Weller of Utah is showing his oils and watercolors at the Red & White Gallery for the first time.

The 2nd Annual Armed Forces Appreciation Dinner and Dance was held on Saturday, Sept. 13 at the Knights of Columbus Hall at 190 S.

The La Grange Noon Lions Club was honored to host District Governor Kelli Higgins at its recent meeting, where she shared inspiring insights into the many service projects Lions Clubs across the district are championing to support local communities.

A lively group of twenty- five seniors from the La Grange Senior Citizens Activity Center enjoyed a truly memorable afternoon as they attended a dazzling performance of Fiddler on the Roof at the Bastrop Opera House. The beloved musical, known for its rich storytelling and unforgettable songs, had the audience captivated from the opening scene.
